카카오맵 API를 더 편리하고 유용하게 이용하실 수 있도록 신규 오픈 API 4종을 추가하고, 카카오맵 API 이용 절차를 개선할 예정입니다.
적용일 이후에는 앱 관리 페이지에서 카카오맵 API 활성화 후 비즈월렛 연결만으로, 필요한 API를 보다 간편하게 이용할 수 있도록 절차를 간소화 및 개선했습니다. 또한 더 많은 개발자가 안정적으로 카카오맵 API를 이용할 수 있도록 개발자 계정 기준 무료 쿼터 제공 방식을 일부 변경합니다.
서비스 운영에 참고 부탁드립니다.

무료 쿼터 및 요금
개발자 계정 기준 첫 번째로 카카오맵 API를 활성화한 앱에는 무료 쿼터가 제공됩니다. 두 번째 활성화 앱부터는 비즈월렛 연결 및 유료 API 사용 설정 후 아래 유료 사용 기준에 따라 이용할 수 있습니다.

위 변경 사항은 2026년 7월 21일 이후 카카오맵 API를 활성화한 앱에 적용되며, 2026년 7월 21일 이전부터 카카오맵 API를 이용 중인 앱의 기존 무료 쿼터는 적용일 이후에도 유지됩니다.
다만, 카카오맵 API 운영 정책 및 사용 현황 등에 따라 제공 기준이 변경될 수 있으며, 최신 안내는 데브톡 공지를 확인해주시기 바랍니다.

We will add four new open APIs and improve the Kakao Map API usage process so you can use Kakao Map APIs more conveniently and effectively.
After the effective date, the process has been simplified and improved so that you can use the required APIs more easily by activating the Kakao Map API and connecting a Biz Wallet on the app management page. To ensure that more developers can use Kakao Map APIs reliably, we will also make partial changes to how free quotas are provided based on developer accounts.

Free quota and pricing
A free quota is provided to the first app that activates the Kakao Map API based on the developer account. From the second activated app, the APIs are available according to the paid usage criteria below after connecting a Biz Wallet and setting up paid API.

The changes above apply to apps that activate the Kakao Map API after July 21, 2026, and the existing free quota for apps that have been using the Kakao Map API before July 21, 2026 will be maintained after the effective date.
However, the provision criteria may change depending on the Kakao Map API operation policy and usage status. For the latest notice, check the DevTalk notice.

Services using the Kakao Maps API should check the details below and take action depending on the activation time and usage.

Apps that activated the Kakao Maps API before the effective date
- The existing free quota will continue to be provided after the effective date.
- No separate action is required when using the API within the free quota.

Apps that activate the Kakao Maps API after the effective date
- For the first activated app based on the developer account, no separate action is required when using the Kakao Maps API within the free quota.
- To use the Kakao Map API in the second or later activated app, complete setting up paid API after connecting a Biz Wallet.

- Regardless of the app activation time or order, to use more than the free quota, setting up paid API after connecting a Biz Wallet is required.
- To use the four new Open APIs, check the detailed specifications in the Kakao Developers documentation and REST API test tool after the effective date.
