Hello Kakao Developer Team,
We are a U.S.-based messaging technology provider evaluating KakaoTalk integration for our company and our enterprise customers.
The current Kakao Developers documentation states that:
-
An overseas business can convert a Kakao Developers app to a Biz App using its D‑U‑N‑S number.
-
A foreign business operator in the United States can apply to convert a KakaoTalk Channel into a verified Business Channel.
-
Business Authentication enables a service provider to obtain authorization to operate business assets, including KakaoTalk Channels, on behalf of users.

Could you please clarify the following?
-
Can a U.S. company now create and operate a verified KakaoTalk Business Channel without establishing a Korean company or obtaining a Korean business registration number?
-
Can a U.S. messaging provider use Business Authentication to let enterprise customers connect and authorize their KakaoTalk Channels, similar to an OAuth-based “Connect your KakaoTalk account” flow?
-
The Business Authentication documentation refers to KakaoTalk Channels as business assets, but the currently documented consent items appear to cover primarily Kakao Moment and Keyword Ads. Are KakaoTalk Channel management and messaging consent scopes currently available, available through an approval process, or planned for the future?
-
To send enterprise communications such as AlimTalk informational messages, customer-service messages, authentication messages, or one-time passwords, must a U.S. company still work through an official Kakao agency or BizMessage partner? Alternatively, can a U.S. technology provider apply directly to become an approved Kakao messaging provider?
Our goal is to help international businesses integrate KakaoTalk into their existing customer-service, notification, and authentication systems while complying fully with Kakao’s policies.
Thank you for any guidance on the correct onboarding and partnership process.
