Hello Kakao Business / Kakao Moment API support team,
We integrate with the Kakao Moment Ads API as part of Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence, ingesting daily performance reports on behalf of our customers’s advertiser accounts.
How we call the API
- Endpoint: ‘GET /v4/adGroups/report’
- We request daily-granularity reports: ‘timeIncrement=DAILY’
- We pass a date range via `start` / `end` query parameters, formatted ‘yyyyMMdd’
(e.g. ‘start=20240115&end=20240115’) - The response returns one row per day, where each row has its own ‘start’ / ‘end’ fields formatted ‘yyyy-MM-dd’ (e.g. `“start”: “2024-01-15”, “end”: “2024-01-15”`), alongside ‘dimensions’ and ‘metrics’ for that day.
What we need clarified
We currently treat the ‘start’ date on each daily report row as a calendar day in Korea Standard Time (Asia/Seoul, UTC+9) — i.e., we assume the day boundary for report aggregation is midnight-to-midnight KST. We have not found this stated explicitly in
the public API reference, so we’d like to confirm it directly:
1. What timezone are the ‘start’ / ‘end’ values (and the underlying daily aggregation boundary) expressed in? Is it always KST (UTC+9), regardless of the advertiser account’s country, locale, or billing currency?
2. Is this timezone fixed platform-wide, or can it vary per ad account (e.g. for non-Korean advertisers)? If it can vary, is the account’s reporting timezone exposed anywhere via the API (e.g. on the ‘/v4/adAccounts’ endpoint)?
3. Does daylight saving / any seasonal adjustment ever apply, or is it always a fixed UTC+9 offset with no DST?
4. Separately, we understand the report API only returns finalized data through the previous calendar day. Is that “previous calendar day” boundary also KST-based?
5. Is there a public documentation page that states the reporting timezone explicitly? If so, could you point us to it so we can cite it going forward?
Confirming this will let us correctly convert report dates to UTC for our customers.
Thank you for your help.
